The narrow lot posed challenges for the designers, but they created a compact, open-concept floor plan that spans three stories. Take the natural, airy elements of a coastal home plan and combine them with the formal touches of Southern colonial design, and you get coastal plantation style. To make the 1,600-square-foot home feel larger, the designers used double-height ceilings, expansive glass, and seamless indoor/outdoor connections to their advantage.
